Weekly Post

James Nachtwey

James Nachtwey grew up in Massachusetts and graduated from Dartmouth College, where he majored in art history and political science. Nachtwey started work in 1976 as a newspaper photographer in New Mexico and in 1980 he moved to New York to begin his career as a freelance magazine photographer. Then in 1984 he was contracted by Time Magazine and then later in the 1990s became a international photographer for National Geographic. Working for Nat Geo he has received numerous honors  such as the Common Wealth Award, Robert Capa Gold Medal five times, and Magazine Photographer of the year seven times.
I really admire James Nachtway's photography and the way he captures the world. There were many photos in his gallery that i really enjoyed looking at. He does amazing job using such dramatic lighting in order to a moving photo or it just tells a story. I plan to capture the beauty in the industrial world and how much it effects the world around people one day.
