Maria Stenzel

Maria Stenzel has been a photographer for more than 16 years for National Geographic. Stenzel grew up in Ghana, the Netherlands, and New York. She has lived in Washington D.C. since 1980, looking for work. As a  young college graduate from the University of Virginia with a bachelor's degree in American Studies.  She then found a job with National Geographic, that has taken her on many journeys around the world. But there is one place that keeps calling her back and that is Antarctica.
I hope one day to be able to photograph the wonders of the frozen underworld of Antarctica like Maria Stenzel has.She has a special eye to capture such moving photos with being able to capture the wonders of the world. I want to push my limits to be able to capture such photos like hers. I really admire her work and what she has done.
