Juan Abelle uses what looks like long sense and over exposed photos. I am not sure what kind of camera.
Able takes photos of what he calls a fictional utopia. This series is called "country fictions." They are photos of idealisms that he says are not real. He also talks about nostalgia. It all seems to come down to an idea that ultimately exceeds reality. Maybe disappointment.
These photos are beautiful to me. The mixture of color with natural landscape really strikes the viewer. The message is sad though, it makes me feel like it's silly to dream. He seems like a pessimistic person and that makes it hard to make it through life when you feel like there is no true goodness to look forward to.
