1. Roger Minick is a photographer that started doing photography while he went to school in California in 1964. While he was attending Berkeley we started working with ASUC studio which was a student arts facility. During this time he created a work that was eventually published. After graduating in 1969 he was put on staff at the ASUC and then went on to produce a number of series in photography, one being the Sightseer Series.
2. The Sightseer series is a series that Minick made in 1980. This was his first color series and was sponsored by the National Parks Service. It was well know and published by Vikings. This serious of portraits with landscapes show the use of color contrast between the subject and the background. Minick does a good job and placing the people in the best position so that they relate to the background.
3. I enjoyed this series because each photograph was a picture of every sightseer you can think of. The color and contrast between the images was done well and these photos are a good example of how to make photographs by choosing the subject and seeing how they can fit with the landscape in the background. All his photos have a good balance and the entire series was interesting to look at and study.
