Txema Salvans

Txema Salvans did this series along, with many other photographs, in what was called The Waiting Game. It goes along with the history of fans waiting around the route of the Tour De France. Salvans took these photos as a message of how those fans are. They are basically forgotten even though they help the participants.

The photos are shot on the side of the road as if alongside the Tour de France. Thy look as though they area taken with a slow shutter speed because they are capturing the movements in the first photo. There is also a lot of light let into the photo which also gives the impression of the low shutter speed. There is a lot of flat color against a beautiful blue sky which creates a nice photo.

What I enjoy most about these photos is the realistic effect of them. The people waiting there and it telling the story of them forgotten. Each person experiencing different feelings at each different location makes them interesting and makes you think. I also enjoy the bright lighting. The blue sky may not have been captured and stood out as well without it.
