What are the artist's technical choices?
Hoque has a way of manipulating lighting and shadow to make his compositions spectacular. Although most of his photographs are darker, he accentuates the highlights within them perfectly, making them balanced. Whether it's changing the focus, having slower shutter speeds, or speeding them up, the changes he makes within his camera alone makes his compositions dream-like.
What are the artist's conceptual and/or thematic intents?
Hoque's work definitely takes on a more spiritual side. It seems as if the physical self and the inner self collide in these, taking a journey. Although many seem to portray death, spirituality, and even the after life, his compositions also convey life, its' journey, and the beauty of it all.

How do you respond to these choices and intents?
Hoque's work is extremely different, and that's what I like about it. His photographs connect with the viewer spiritually on an extremely heavy level. They are beautiful, yes, but the way he is able to make the viewer feel through them is amazing. It is like you are on the same journey. And they make you curious as to what part of the journey the photographer was on when taking them. I would even say it helps the viewer reconnect with their spiritual self, coming to terms with the fact that every day we live, we are closer to dying.
