Amelia Wood week 1 post pt. 1 (make up)

Edward Weston

Weston's career spanned crucial years in American photography.  A restless pursuit of art creating a body of work that ranged over nudes, still life’s, industrial scenes, portraiture, landscapes, and any other subject that touched Weston's visual imagination and captured his attention.

Weston's work flows together in a way that you can see where he captures the same movements or layouts that show up in his landscape works as it does to his still life's and nudist photos.  Though his nude photos could seem inappropriate, Weston turns the forms into a way that is high art and not at all just a naked body.  The still life's that he photographs look like that of the human forms creating new shapes with their bodies as he takes a moment to capture that time with his camera.
