Amelia Wood weekly post 5

Bertil Nilsson

Bertil Nilsson's body of work is inspired by the human from and movement.  He works mainly with dancers and circus artists.  Nilsson's body of work is not just limited to photography, he also uses moving images.

In Nilsson's photographs you really get a feel for the human body and how it moves or leaps through space and in its surroundings.   The top photo he has covered his dancer in a red powder, and as the dancer moves his body you see a cloud of red engulf around his body.   Even in Nilsson's photograph with the dancer and the plain wall.  The red of the pants really stands out captures the viewer to look toward the legs then form there.   A lot of Bertil Nilsson's photographs have some point of red or white along in the photos, which really draws the viewer in.
