Weekly Post wk4

Daisuke Yokota
Daisuke Yokota is a young japanese photographer who usually display images that are black and white or sometimes with a hint of color.  The photos displayed are from his work titled Back Yard.  He used a digital camera to capture and print the photos and then used a 6x7 film camera to take a photo of the photo that was previously taken in which he conducted about 10 times.  He would then process the film in his own bathroom allowing a slight glimpse of light to hit the film giving it the high contrast in the photograph.

The photos taken are amazing in my opinion.  They seem like basic images that any person would take or  quote a "selfie."  The high Contrast in light makes the image appear ghostly or give it a haunting sense.  It something you would see on tv with one of the ghost mystery shows.  It is pretty amazing how he was able to conduct so much work into each photo and giving actual figures on the image high contrast of light without actually destroying the entire image.
