Nicole Orgeron weekly post #2

Vicki Reed, born and raised in Maine, is a former newspaper photographer and magazine art editor. She uses vintage and toy cameras and photographs primarily in black and white but the pictures in this series were hand colored. She made it a point to use the older and more time consuming techniques of hand coloring photos with oil paints and cotton balls.
In this series Reed hand colors black and white photos. She forgoes current technology and techniques and keeps to traditional ways to hand color, using oil paints, cotton balls and cue tips as well as oil pencils. She uses these old and time consuming techniques to produce unique colored photos, with no two being the same.
