Robert Lamb Weekly Post 1

Berta Vicente is a young photographer born in Barcelona, Spain in 1994. Her work has been featured in the “Time Out Barcelona” publication. All of the images above are from her “One” gallery. She gives little to no information as to what inspires her or what she was going for when creating these images. Yet from there pictures the immense amount of time and effort that she puts into her work is clearly visible.

From what I have seen Berta Vicente’s work focuses on displaying specific areas of the human body in odd and uncommon positions. Much like the first picture, Vicente’s work in her “One” gallery isolates these different areas buy using things like colored water and paint (matching the color of the background). I believe she does this to sum what help the viewer focus on what she wants them to see. By doing this it adds emphasis and much depth to the work. Something as simple as someone’s arm may now be viewed and perceived in a much different way. Her work leaves me with the feeling that every slight thing was meticulously planned out. This is one of the many reasons I chose to talk about Berta Vicente.
