Grant Layne - Artist Post 17

Amanda Friedman

Amanda Friedman is a Los Angeles photographer who makes pictures at night time.  She finds solace in the middle of the night when things are less active. When creating Night Landscapes, Friedman used several cameras for her series, some of which include: Mamiyah RZ Pro II, a 4x5, and a Cannon Mark III.
Friedman describes her process as "driving, and driving, and driving,"  As soon as she finds a spot that shows a little bit a light she stops.  She also admits that she does not know what some of the pictures will turn out until she looks t them later on.
I think Friedman is successful in Night Landscapes. It is of something that is overlooked and demands more attention.  She also does a good job at composing light and color.
