DENNIS RAMOS#3/ Marshay Davis

1.Dennis Ramos Uses a SLR camera for his landscape portraits. He chooses to mostly shoot in low lighting, and almost all his photos are in black and white. He uses Off camera-lighting and photo shop processing. He also loves to utilize The Gradients of black and white tones maneuvering throughout his photos.

2.) I believe his intents are to show the different phases that light can go through. Light is constantly the driving force in every portrait. Its dominance is the focus, and also the background. He wants to show the dynamics of light, how it can be used, and how vital it is in evoking the emotion of his portraits.

3)My response to his choices sparked curiosity. For one he primarily shoots landscapes, but the way he chooses to depict these landscapes is so brilliant. What really grabbed my attention was how futuristic he makes his portraits look. They look like a parallel between reality and the future. They all exude this mysterious quality that causes the viewer to gravitate towards them. Also, the fact that they’re in black in white reciprocates the mood so easily.
