Megan Wingfield - Weekly Post 4

Alexander Binder uses high color contrast in his pieces. All three that I have chosen have bright illuminating colors. Most of his artwork has a subject matter and is centered in the middle. The first two seem to be taken at a short distance and the last seems to be taken just a foot or so away. Glass is a big key he uses in taking his photographs.

In the first photo you can tell that theres a man taking a photo in the mirror. He is flicking the camera off and there is also a creepy skull figure in the right back corner. There is a bright rainbow flashing in a circle before him. The second picture shows a bunch of mushrooms together. The mushrooms as well as the picture is in rainbow colors as well. The last picture shows a man with his face missing, replacing it is again an abundance of color. Behind him seem to be boards of wood with light shining through them.

These pieces of art are very modern and interesting to look at. The bright colors make it look as if there is more depth to the photo that the colors are hiding. This artist has a very different style from anyone Ive ever looked at. All of Alexanders pieces give a sense of imagination to the viewer.
