Grace Herion - Richard Rothman

Richard Rothman

These images are the complete opposite of the other artist I chose to feature. They are black and white and much busier. However, I like the choices Richard Rothman made in the portrait through the shapes. The objects seem to balance the weight of the picture out, which is important since color is not there to do it. While shades are still relevant, complementing colors are taken out of consideration.

The landscape is interesting to me. I can't decide if I like it because it seems like it is too close up and busy. I feel like it is just a picture of a tree stump next to another smaller tree. So I'm not sure about this one.
