Landscape and Portrait 2-- Shane Ambrose

This photograph by Bruce Wrighton uses color to perfection with the wide range of hues he's managed to capture.  The pink of the shirt, black of the pants, red of the hat-- against the green grass, and the blue and white of the sky does wonders for the eye, not to mention the yellow and pink of the shapes to his left.  In this photo, much like Khalik Allah's portrait, there is a natural horizon line which allows the viewer to feel relaxed when viewing the image by ground the man in the foreground.  Wrighton does a beautiful job subtly filling the space in the sky to the man's right with the Ferris wheel and contrasts that with the openness on the other side.  The closeness of the people in the middle ground juxtaposed with the tent further back adds to the depth of this portrait.

This is another beautiful image utilizing the visual advantages of color.  The oranges and blues of the sky work so well together to create contrast.  The actual composition of the frame works very well as a whole in the picture as well.  The right angle concept created by the wall and fence creates ease for the viewer's eye and encloses all but the sky in the upper left, which I find very clever.
