Monica Fowlkes - Weekly Artist Post

Greasy food and scantily clad women – together at last. Just when you thought you’d seen it all, Australian photographer Sarah Bahbah emerges on Tumblr and Instagram with her provocative series, aptly titled, Sex and Takeout.

The suggestive series takes the idea of ‘food porn,’ that is, the glorification of food, quite literally. Here, Bahbah unites sex and food in an enticing and highly suggestive way. From couples frolicking in a bed of cheeseburgers to fast-food wrappers covering up private parts, Bahbah and her camera lens have witnessed some pretty peculiar fetishes.

Theses pictuers and are really out of the ordinary. Some might read into the series as a comment on the idealization or objectification of women or perhaps the gluttony of Westerners in a fast-food culture. I propose we take the images for what they are: unexpected portraits of beautiful people that leave you wanting more.
