Joshua Caudell Weekly post 10

In these photographs Kevin McCollister has made portraits of different Places of Worship.  He uses natural light in their respective environment to represent what that area is like.  The pictures also look very resolute, which suggests that she used a low, high-quality ISO.  Photographing a religious place is much different because it is so difficult to do because of low light.

In the pictures, McCollister looks to capture the true essence of these Places of worship providing images intent on displaying their paradoxical structures, that is, the beauty within their "peculiarity." He looks to have chosen her portraits with careful precision to depict the unusual body language, as well as the various details of the structure.

While I agree that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I, also see the awesomeness of these churches be brought out to their full potential.  I am a true christian myself and to see photographs of these places as a photographer is to see the churches come to life.
