Callie Ward Artist Post #6

1. Cindy Sherman is the photographer of these pictures above and she created pictures of herself. Her illusion was not create self portraits but to empower women within this society by making art. All her work has to relate to women of some sort. Cindy was definitely a popular artist in the late twentieth century.
2. Clearly in every photo listed above she illustrated a womanly figure whether the woman are real or not. in the second photo, the woman looks like a ballon or plastic of some sort but Cindy still illustrated feminism. The first photo the girl seems more realistic with her natural beauty and she wasn't posing. In the last photo the woman has makeup, half naked and posing so give off a sense of emotion.
3. In those three photos i believe the intent was definitely made for women but every picture I saw on her page it was only women. I know she wanted to empower them but why only woman? In each picture they all looked similar and you could tell they all came from one artist. Her photos in my opinion were alright.
