Callie Ward artist post 7

1. Richard Avedon is the photographer of these photos above and he works in black and white. He makes pictures of portraits dealing with peoples emotions and expressions. Richard was in the war and his job was to take hundreds of pictures of peoples faces. His photography definitely reflects his work today. Thats the only thing he really makes pictures of.
2. Richard works only in black and white from what I saw throughout his photos. He tries to capture great lighting to show more depth within someones face. All his photos give off a historical view due to the color choice and the way people dressed in every photo. A ton of his photos showed sadness because of the way the expressions appeared.
3. I enjoyed looking through Richards photos but they seemed repetitive. Although he only used black and white medium, the faces tended to be the same expressions. The posture of people were the same as well. The clothes seemed a bit older like the photos were taken about twenty or so years ago. Overall he used great lighting to capture depth within the face.
