Jessica Manno - Artist Post 6

Mirko Saviane

1. Mirko Saviane's photos appear to be shot with a high contrast been colors, light, and shadow. Depending on the scene, his photos are formatted in both a vertical and horizontal frame. If Saviane decided to take a photo and apply a filter (usually a vintage-looking filter) he uses his phone camera, surprisingly,

2. Saviane has stated that he does not stage any of his photos. He prefers to capture life, in a quiet setting, where even the simplest things such as walking that create shadows on colorful buildings really draws his attention. Noted for his use of rich color in his photos, he did state it’s not all about color.” It’s about the perfect composition, captured at an instant that can never be reproduced."

3. Saviane's choices and thematic elements to his photos are in my opinion, are very attractive. Allowing himself to wait for a perfect moment to happen in front of him, such as a stranger walking by, and finding the perfect angle and position he wants for the composition is what I think true photographers should all have - patience and of course, a good eye. His photos caught my attention instantly and I would have never known that they weren't staged.
