Izima Kaoru has worked as a fashion photographer until 1993 when he was inspired to create a project called "Landscape with a corpse" which spans from the year 1995 - 2008. The theme is basically as stated except for his actors he has used female models. I feel this was a very original and unique idea. The settings for each picture definitely highlight the models especially with the different types of lighting.
Kaoru uses the models perfect death scenes and creates a magnificent work of art in the process. It makes the viewer view death in a different perspective. It does also give off a beautiful, haunting, creepy kind of vibe. It's one of those things where it's just so creepy you have to keep looking for more.
Even though it seems strange and horrific, it's pretty interesting how Kaoru sets up the landscape and environment for the models. Even the way the models are placed in the photos are pretty interesting. Its not just a simple ordinary death, it is a tragic mysterious one.
