1) Araki Chiro is a Japanese photographer that has taken many
photos of his cat, Chiro. All of his photos are in black and white.
2) Araki has even made a book called Sentimental Journey. It
narrates the life of Araki, Yoko, and Chiro; following them from honeymoon, to
Yoko’s death from cancer, and eventually to Chiro’s death ten years after Yoko.
3) I enjoy his black and white photos. At first I
didn’t know that Chiro was Japan’s most famous cat because of his book
Sentimental Journey. It’s interesting that a book of photos which narrate a
family’s life can have such an impact on the society around it.
