Meaghan Mozingo - Artist Post 6

Henrik Malstrom

1) The above pictures is from Henrick Malstrom work in progress titled El Docke. Malstrom photographed the Dock Sud in Buenos Aries, Argentina. Maelstrom started this collection in 2015. each picture is shot in color.

2) Malstrom's concept was to photograph the urban area of Dock Suds. Each building is old and run down which lends to interesting photos. Old buildings tend to have cracks and faded chipped paint which can be intriguing to photograph. His photos also contain an alluring aspect. Each of his photos has a shadow of either an object directly in the photo or just outside of the frame. These shadows adds character to each photo.

3) I enjoy photographs of old buildings. Malstrom did a great job with this collection. In the above photos he used a higher Fstop allowing a greater depth of field. This abled him to capture the whole scene. Plus by allowing a sharper background, it allowed the shadows to stand out more. If he had used a lower Fstop the shadows might not be so clear. Each photo has vibrant colors which is a nice compliment to the run down area. Malstrom seemed to be patient. Each photo has incredible lighting. The natural light hits the buildings just right to create artistic shadows.
