Jen Ervin took her family: her husband and three daughters, two of which are twins, to their family owned cabin, Ark Lodge, in the woods of South Carolina. This Project titled, The Arc of Summer, is a series of Polaroids that started in 2012 but is a continuous project. Jen Ervin chose to use a Polaroid camera to maintain the "imperfections" that create a vulnerable moment.
I enjoy Jen Ervin's style of photography, the photos seem simple but they have a somewhat eerie feeling to them. She has split her series up into the four different seasons and while it primarily features her daughters, it also features the landscape of the vast woods around their cabin.
