Flower Power is a series created to challenge the way that people look at pit-bull type dogs. Typically people view these dogs as overly aggressive and not family friendly. "These dogs are the victims of terrible prejudice and abuse, sometimes leading to terrible consequences such as the eviction of their owners, or the euthanasia of the dogs." Over a million pit bulls are euthanized every year in the United States. Sophie's series has created a movement on social media as well, #PitBullFlowerPower. Sophie started this project in the summer of 2014 and is a continuous project.
I personally enjoyed Sophie's series. I absolutely adore these dogs and hate that they have such an awful reputation. Sophie uses her project to help find these dogs homes and show that they arent what people make them out to be. Pitbulls are kind, loving dogs, but just as any animal adapt to how they are trained and what situations they are put into.
