Alexey Menschikov

Alexey Menschikov is a Russian photographer who produces Escher-like photos that are city inspired. He focuses on shadows and they shapes they make. Mainly in black and white, his work is very surreal. Menschikov's work is very simplistic, it is what it is with no elaborate connotations.

His process takes around 2 weeks and spends a few hours finalizing everything in Photoshop. No specifics on his picture making stats. Very good use of the formal elements of design, repetition and rhythms being top. Also very good use of chiaroscuro.

He says that some of his images are "simply visual without any implications." I wish i could do more work like that. Simple, clever ideas executed with whimsical subjects and clean lines, almost to the point where one wonders why they didn't think to make that picture before.
