Daniel Brehun - Artist Post #3

Robert Adams enjoys showing depth of field in landscapes within his photos and also showing how humans have utilized the land. In the first two photos you can see that Adams gives us close up visuals of how humans have treated the land. In the first it shows litter on the grass in front of the gas station, within the second photo it shows someone's front lawn that is well taken care of. Within the third photo you can see a good representation of what the before and after effects people have had on the land, which also entwines with the first two photos.

Adams represents clear observations of depth within the landscapes and scenery's showing the distance between objects in the background. He does a great job with that representation in the third image where you can even see the mountains in the background. The fact Adams did these images in black and white, gives the different variations of shadows within the image a greater perspective and catches the eye.

I feel Adams has used balance within his images and has a good way to depict his point of what hes most interested in with photography. I like that he also is able to get up close within his images to represent landscape as well, rather than just taking photos from afar. It is also intriguing that he shows environmental aspects as well with his landscapes.
