1. National Geographic photographer, Donato Di Camillo, does a
very good job at capturing the rawness of people. Being located in New York makes
capturing people much easier considering the huge population. This particular
series of images is called Beach Body
Bingo, a fun title for a fun group of pictures to look at.
2.
Camillo captures people in everyday life. He is genuinely in
love with the idea of people.
His Beach Body Bingo images
are very aesthetically pleasing to my eye. The variety of facial expressions
and the natural lighting from the beach scene really helps create a joyous
mood.
3. In the first image of the elderly lady I find that her
wrinkles are very prevalent but not in a negative way; I think her signs of age
make the picture even more visually appealing.
Not only do I appreciate his images, I respect the fact that
Camillo learned his passion in prison of all places. If you love something
enough, you will find a way to do it or you’ll find an excuse. Camillo didn’t
have any excuses.
