1.) Alister Benn uses a Canon 10 D camera to shoot his landscape photography. Most of his prints are 24×24. He uses both horizontal and vertical frames. He also goes back and forth between color and black and white photography. He received his first SLR camera at 13. Growing up in Scotland he always had a strong appreciation for nature.
2.) The pictures above are part of a series called intimate. Benn forces the viewer to get up close with nature. Instead of showcasing the beauty he captures natural elements in a mysterious and magical way. The colors are vibrant but also slightly hazy.
3.) Benn seeks to give a nature a voice and I think he does it successfully. His body of work is brilliant and extremely inspiring. The way he is able to capture landscapes is artistically as great as a painting.
