1) Luke Shadbolt's photos, from his Maelstorm collection, capture the power and majesty of the ocean's waves. The photos were made over a period of 6 months. Shadbolt took a year to plan for the photos and everything came together perfectly when a wide array of environmental factors aligned during an el nino season in 2016.
2) The photos document the fight between the divine nature of creation and the destruction and power of a single wave. He explores the balance of light and dark in the ocean and captures how it moves.
3) These photos resonated with me because of how unreal they seem. Often times i forget how the earth can be so powerful and yet graceful at the same time.
