These photos are from Gregory's artist book, "East of the Sun, West of the Moon." The photos were made on the Solstices and Equinoxes of 2012 and 2013. Gregory had no determined set, the main idea was to think loosely about time: "what does time look like...what does time feel like?" For this artist book, Gregory collaborated with his wife Ahndraya Parlato.
I could not find much information on "East of the Sun, West of the Moon" or on much of Gregory's work in general. Him and his wife were influenced by personal experiences while making these photos, but they looked at ideas of night/day, life/death, and other ideas of time and what it could be perceived as. I personally enjoyed most of this artist book, some photos were not as aesthetically pleasing as some others but overall I found it to be an enjoyable series.
