Holli Turner - Weekly Artist Post

Daesung Lee

Whether looking at the billboard (smaller image at center) or the overall image the artist created the depth of field extended far.  The aperture was small possibly f22 or f35.  He also used a shorter focal length of millimeters of his camera to create the depth of field.

The concept of these photographs was the nomadic lifestyle of Mongolians.  These photographs contain actual nomads in their natural environment.  There is such an excellent visual story that is being told within each photo.  These photographs were well done and play on the passage of time and how despite that these areas still has the ability to be what they once were.

I enjoyed this almost collage or pasted look of the billboard included within the overall image.  It created an intriguing contrast.  There were notable differences between the two images placed which created this contrast, thriving living scenery and dry dying areas.  There was also this subject interaction with the billboard photograph, which was located within each photograph.
