Carlo Mollino



Carlo Mollino uses under-exposed images with a yellow-ish filter in this photo series. He seems to enjoy symmetry and balance by placing his subjects often in the middle of the image.

This series features photographs of women from 1962 - 1973. Mollino under-exposes the images to portray a sort of darkness in the photos. The photos featured above are some of the more tame images. Many of the photos are more sexual and mostly neud. He seems to be trying to give a picture of the sexuality of women during that time period.

I think the images are beautiful in a dark but free way. I like the way Mollino sets up the subject in the middle and doesn't try to hide his intentions.
