Laura Austin- Weekly Post

Anna Williams

1). Out of Anna Williams entire selection of pictures, these three were the most appealing. Not only are they pictures of cake, but it's ONLY of cake with nothing even in the background. Her choice in subject matter is clearly on the cake and doesn't want your attention to go somewhere else. I'm not sure what camera she used. Even in the back drop, there isn't even a line to define where the wall and the ground meet.

2). Her intention is for you to focus only on the elegance of the cake. These pictures are very elegant with a low/medium lighting and simple backgrounds, as stated earlier. If the back drop had been a design or even just one color, it would be distracting. The choice of  a cream color back drop was a good artistic decision.

3). I think these pictures are beautiful. The cakes themselves are decorated very elegantly and the artist choice she made of having a simple background only compliments the cake, which I assume is the purpose of the picture.
