Shane Ambrose Weekly Artist #3

1.  In these photographs, the artist, Anja Humljan, poses in different cities, varying the types of surrounding structures, as well as the color palette and body positioning, according to her emotional response to each setting.  She also remains consistently dressed in white tights to help distinguish her body lines against the contrasting background imagery.

2.  Humljan's aim for this series of photographs is to portray the interconnection between the body and available open space.  She uses different environments to convey the universality of practicing yoga, but more deeply, adapting to her allotted surroundings.  She expresses her emotional response to her immediate space, as well as the entire environment of the city, through her various poses.

3.  I absolutely love these photographs and think that Humljan does a brilliant job executing a sense of oneness between the body and space/environment.  Her body positions do such a great job to compliment her surrounding space that she blends in and essentially becomes one with the space.
