SHANE AMBROSE weekly artist post #5

In these photographs, Stacey Evans proves that beautiful pictures can be captured while in motion on a moving train.  These pictures display a brilliant awareness of the relationship between color contrast and available light.  The contrast of the blues in the sky against the natural greens and browns of the earth make for very captivating pictures.  She also uses varying shutter speeds for the pictures depending on what she is trying to capture.

Stacey Evans's theme for this series of photographs was to capture the many different landscapes in America....from her seat on a moving train.  She sought to express the differences in each geographic location as well as her ability to negotiate with the caprice of mother nature in order to further emphasize the naturalness of the photos.

I think that her pictures are very remarkable.  The contrast and perspective she is able to achieve in her photographs give them such depth and substance.  Her ability to capture the fleeting moment so successfully says everything you need to know about her as an artist.
