American
photojournalist Amy Toensing uses a Canon 5D Mark III. It is an EOS
5D 35mm full-frame camera with 22.3MP. The camera is relatively small
and affordable. Because of the weight of the camera, it makes it easier
for traveling and documentary work. The 5D camera that Toensing uses
lacks some of Canon’s features like its focus and higher megapixel.
However, with the level of professionalism use of the camera, it produces great
images in result of its full-frame sensor.

Amy
Toensing makes photographs on her traveling experiences across the world.
Being a photojournalist, she captures images while documenting her travel.
Toensing looks for ways to show the landscape with emotion and adding
humanity in her images. Toensing’s images are usually captured “in
the moment” without preparation. She creates space and follows a broad
and thematic outlook that suggests an idea or use of imagination opposed to
straight documentation.

Toensing’s
work has very good composition and theme. The connection between her work
and her technique show in her pictures. She takes the time to understand
her stories and subjects and allows the space she needs to fill the picture.
I think that she illustrates her stories through images very well. Her
work makes me use my imagination to tell the story behind her photographs.
