Meaghan Mozingo - Artist post #8

Noa Ben-Shalom

1) Nao Ben-Shalom is a photographer who captures local conflict and human structure within Israel. Ben-Shalom's collection titled Battlefield  was taken in the Golan heights, Northern Israel, during the winter of 2006.

2) The Golan Heights are full of lush beautiful landscapes, but also houses mine fields, abandoned army posts and bunkers. Ben- Shalom examines the reality of past, present, and future wars. She shows that war can imbed itself anywhere.

3) War leaves an impact where ever it goes. Ben-Sholom captures the raw beauty along with the painful truth that lies in the Golan Heights. Her landscape photos seem to be slightly out of focus and it there natural state. Her compositions have a vast and empty feeling.
