Cory Hogan - Artist Post 1
Antoine Repessé
1.) Antoine Repessé began storing all of his recyclables in his house in 2011 for this project titled #365 Unpacked. In his work he tries to seperate himself from the "mainstream" by photographing issues in society. In these selected pictures Antoine uses a horizontal framing with a 2:3 ratio.
2.) Repessé gathered a total of 70m^3 for this project. These photos bring a harsh reality to a problem that we typically try to turn our backs to. From doing this project he has hopes of helping people realize just how much waste we produce. Repessé stated "I hope my project can inspire change."
3.) These photos really stood out to me because not only are they very nicely framed and arranged, but they speak such a strong message with little words. We go through so much trash every day and we really take for granted that we can just throw our garbage in a bag and somebody will move it elsewhere for us. These pictures make me feel that we wouldn't produce nearly as much trash if we had to keep it around us for awhile.
